What’s on at Whaley Bridge Coworkers this August

Welcome to our August Newsletter!

Welcome to Whaley Bridge Coworkers! Since we opened in December last year, we have been slowly evolving and we are really proud to show off our space via our shiny new website! Our web developer is Yasmin Cotton from Elyrium, and we are sure you will agree that she has done a fantastic job!

When we decided we wanted to open a coworking space, it was to answer what we felt was an unmet need in our lovely town of Whaley Bridge. We recognised that there were a lot of people suffering with their mental health coming out of the pandemic, and our research showed us that more people were working from home, in isolation and often in unsuitable conditions. We wanted to create a space where people felt welcome, had “colleagues”, someone to chat to, had a comfortable desk and chair but most of all were “seen”. We also were sad about our High Street, that more and more shops were closing, and we wanted to try and help invigorate it. We also wanted it to be a space that could be used by the community for whatever it needed, so we are now a community art space, meeting room, workshop area, photo studio, relaxation room…if you have an idea for our space, we would love to hear it!

This week, we have had a new smart lock fitted to our front door which means that if you book the space, you can come and go at times to suit, rather than arranging to be here for a certain time. We simply send a code to your phone and with a bit of magic and modern technology, you can unlock and lock the door to suit your needs.

See our calendar for details of other events taking place, from lace making to stained glass, we have a variety of workshops coming up in the coming weeks and months.
