Ordinary made extra – ordinary
In this series of photographs I have been interested in the theme of everyday objects. I have been involved in an ongoing project of taking a photograph every day which inevitably means that the work becomes autobiographical. The photos are captured in and around the home. Because of the daily constraints there is a strong desire to look for another way of seeing, in order to make the subject different and to explore new ways of working. Many themes have been developed from this somewhat experimental way of working in photographs and in my other passion, printmaking. In this show, the focus has been on defining the objects in a different way, to make them more visually appealing, and away from their more mundane aspects.
